Bang for the Buck
In my adult life, I've never been a slacker as an employee. I always try to do work I'd be proud of. Longtime fans of this blog remember a comment I posted from WWE chairman Vince McMahon. The jist was that he said that this is America, and if you are given a job to do, you shouldn't just do it, but make it your own. Very much like MLK's "if a man is to be a street sweeper" quote. I've really tried to take it to heart
Of late, though, my employer is really getting their money's worth out of me. I'm working my face off. Much of it has to do with the nature of the year we're having. Now, as I feel the pinch of not leaving a bunch of loose ends before the baby comes, I'm working as hard as ever.
Sorry of the lack of posts of late, gentle reader, but priorities have gotten in the way. I often think about my posts about 2007 being the year of waiting, and 2008 being about shit happening, and here it is. I've got shit happening up to my eyes.
So, I miss this. I miss having an idea and posting it here. I miss trying to write things into perspective. But I also miss hobbies, the internet, and tv (read:watching wrestling). I still read the onion, time out chicago, gq and esquire, but that's just because physiology requires that I defecate a couple times a day. Again, things could always be worse. In fact, they're great. Great if challenging.
More when I can. Maybe when the baby arrives. Could be any day.
Once more, dear friends, into the breach.
